Fabrica – Young People

Fabrica worked in partnership with Photoworks during the Brighton Photo Biennial 2016 on an audience development programme for young people. The programme was structured as a series of sessions from summer to autumn 2016, during which a group of 10 young people worked with an arts facilitator, leading up to an event in the gallery, State of Control which took place 22 October 2016, 2-5pm. The event was a giving-over of the gallery space to the young people’s group, allowing them to make it their territory for one afternoon. The sessions leading up to the event allowed the young people to think seriously about the responsibility of having control of the space whilst encouraging their own autonomy as a group of young programmers.
