Skopje Design Week 23-27 November 2016

On an annual basis Skopje unites the world’s most remarkable designers and innovators in one place and gives them a chance to communicate with a broad audience, the regional commercial sector and local educational institutions. SDW is run by Otvorena Soba/Public Room and features the outcomes of the Understanding Territoriality residencies that were hosted at public room earlier this year.

On Thursday 21 April, Netwerk is organising a one-day event that introduces the public to four activities developed in the configuration of the project: the solo exhibition Philip Metten, the residency course and the solo exhibition of Christian Nyampeta, the public relations program in collaboration with Babbelonië Aalst & Vormingplus, and the online broadcast discussion platform UTalk with Wouter Davidts, Beatrijs Eemans, Giorgio de Finis, Philip Metten and Christian Nyampeta.

Open Call for Design Residency in Skopje

Otvorena Soba, are pleased to announce a call for designers in residence (product, industrial, fashion and graphic designers, modellers and architects) to produce prototypes from locally obtained and processed materials, with the available technology in Skopje and it wider surroundings. Designers, regardless of their orientation, will be working on a real problem either with a company or an institution. Designers from EU countries are invited to apply to the residency to work on concrete projects in February/ March 2016. Full details of the opportunity can be found here. Open Call For Applications – Creating Territorialities Residency

Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto in Biella, Italy, are seeking participants for the Creating Territoriality’s residency at UNIDEE – University of Ideas, as part of the Understanding Territoriality project.

The residency will take place over 1 week from 2-8 November 2015.

To be eligible to apply, potential participants must be creative professionals (visual artists, designers, architects, curators, writers, etc.,…) active in any field, anywhere in the world; be born after 1970; have a fluent knowledge of the English language.

The deadline for submissions is 13 September 2015 at 11pm CET.
