Partners will deliver 4 exhibitions over the course of the project, the first of which was Dawn Chorus by Marcus Coates at Fabrica.
This exhibition drew parallels between the territoriality of birds and the domestic spaces of people, and it provided a departure point for the project.
Dawn Chorus is an immersive multi-screen film installation that uses digital methods to explore the relationship between birdsong and the human voice, and similarities between bird and human behaviour. Nineteen individual singers uncannily recreate birdsong and bird movement. Together they form a chorus that accurately simulates the sounds and timings of a natural dawn chorus.
